Can you get a failure to appear for arriving late?

I arrived a few minute late at a Santa Monica Courthouse for a traffic ticket for tinted windows. The reception said they had just called my name and because I was not their they threw the ticket out for a FTA and will process a warrant and to come back on Friday once it is processed. I usually go to the LA superior court in Downtown LA and this never happens. Is this legal? Also my fine went from $75 to $1000. SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY (BE ON TIME IS NOT A SERIOUS ANSWER NOR ORIGINAL).

that shoulld’t of happened
what ifs do happen like a car problem an unexpected detour
the court should of moved you r ticket back and be called one more time at the end of regular call
but in California anything can happen
hopefully they will jsut lower it back to $75 if you have a very good explanation of why you wasn’t on time
